Scarab
The scarab is a beetle that has significant symbolic value in many different cultures and religons. In some shamanistic societies, scarabs are found in creation myths where they are seen as the figures who fashioned the world. Ancient Egyptian culture is most commonly associated with the image of the scarab. It is a symbol of the creator and the sun. Taoists view the insect as a symbol of immortality. The balls that they make draw parallels to their belief in the pill of immortality. This stool is a reflection of this revered insect.
